40 Ways to Wear Short-Shorts and Not Look Cheap

22 Jul

With summer here, we know clothing gets smaller. However, it is also a time to show off our legs.
This is a great post from StyleCaster on how to wear short-shorts and not look cheap.

There’s an ongoing argument about shorts. More specifically, what length is too short, and whether the summer staple can be worn to work or other places you want to appear put-together. Here’s the thing: Most styles—even short shorts—can look remarkably stylish, but it all depends on the cut, the material, and the fit.

When it comes down to it, most shorts out there are pretty short—unless you opt for aboive-the-knee bermuda styles or on-trend culottes—so styling them in a chic way is key. Skin-tight bootie shorts? Save ’em for the beach. High-waisted short-shorts that hit your thigh, have a wide leg, and look amazing when paired with a button-down blouse and a chic shoe? Perfect summer look. Just remember to keep the leg opening fairly wide, your top half pretty covered up, and your shoes not precariously high.

Got Frizz??

29 Jul

Oh summertime, how I love thee. Minus the frizz that attacks my hair. Thankfully this summer I was able to try Fekkai’s Brilliant Glossing Cream, given to me by Glamour as a Glambassador Challenge. I couldn’t have received this product at a better time. July is always a very hot and humid month and we all know what our hair looks like in that glorious weather.

I washed my hair as normal and continued to use my favorite products: It’s a Ten, Thermafuse HeatSmart Serum, and now I added a pea size of Fekkai’s Brilliant Glossing Cream. Once I had all of the product mixed into my damp hair I used the blow dryer as normal.

For my bun, I used all of my products prior to blow drying my hair as normal, and then used a very small amount on my hair once it was up in my bun to give it a nice shine.

I have never found a product that literally worked as well as it says it does. I am also very picky with texture, smell and how well my hair drys with it in it. On this day, I swear to you, it is exactly what it says it is. It renews shine to your hair and fights frizz all day long.

With one month of summer left, ladies, you need to help your hair and put an end to the frizz. This is one product I will continue to use even after the hot and humid days have left us.

Going Greek

1 Jul

athenos feta cheese

For my most recent Glambassador Challenge, thanks to Glamour, I had to use Athenos Feta Cheese in any delicious way I wanted to. I decided since it’s summer and so many of us are still trying to watch what we eat, I made a healthy wrap with some left over chicken breast that I had. This is really easy for anyone to make and it’s light and healthy!

~Chicken Breast (not deli meat)

~Kalamata olives

~Athenos Feta Cheese

~any Greek Dressing of your choice

~Whole Grain, Wheat or Multi-Grain wrap (whichever you prefer)

~banana peppers
